Hearing music at around midnight isn't really that scary.
... That is, unless the damn music plays without any prompting from you. Every night.
I have a stereo upstairs that inexplicably plays Beethoven's "Fur Elise" every midnight (Alright, so it isn't that unexplainable. The CD inside the stereo features classical music, but you get the point).
I'm quite sure that there is a reasonable explanation for this, and that it has to do with a timer or something. But hell, it is not a pleasant experience to be woken up to hear Fur Elise every midnight.
... I'm scared.
Found it off deviantART, and I wanted to do this because I thought it'd be fun to try out.
Oh, and yes; everything I'm writing in this entry is true.
Must do it only if you currently have a gf/bf. Be honest. No secrets.
1. Are you going out with anyone?
Well, considering that I can do this only if I have one... well, I suppose that'd be a yes, no?
2. How long have you been going out with that person?
Hm... not too sure. It's been a while... A year or two, maybe? Like I said, it's been a while.
3. How did you two end up together?
Actually, my dad introduced me to him. Wasn't exactly love at first sight, but after sticking around with him for a bit I eventually warmed up. Though I admit, I sometimes neglect him. I'm not a very loving person, after all. :(
4. Have you ever gone out with anyone else in your life before that person?
I suppose, yes; a couple years back my family took care of him for a while. I was bored, so I played with him often. Oh, and before my current one my dad introduced me to another potential interest.
It was fun... for a while, I suppose. I remember decorating him with stickers. Eventually I got tired of him because he was so... 'out-dated'. I wonder what happened to him.
5. And the one you've had the longest relationship with?
My current one - I'm actually surprised I've managed to hold on to him for so long.
6. What colour best describes your lover?
Black and Silver definitely goes well on him. I can't imagine him in any other colour.
7. Any interesting memories?
There was that one incident where due to my negligence he almost drowned in water. It's not that I forgot that he and water do not mix well - it's just that... well, he's as subtle as a boot, and very easy to overlook.
8. Do you feel like cheating at all?
Hm... not really. Nothing really has caught my attention so far, and I'm pretty much satisfied with my current relationship, though it would be nice if he had a better memory...
9. Anything you want to say to your current lover?
Thanks for your constant wake-up calls; they may not have been that effective but it's the thought that counts. ^^
Oh, and really, I'm sorry for that water incident. I've learned my lesson, and I would rather not have that incident repeated again. Ever.

.... Oh, and before anyone who knows me either feels betrayed for me not telling them for so long or wonders if I've finally snapped, I'd like to mention that the point of this meme was to talk about your mobile phones. Lol.
Also, I welcome anyone who sees this to do the same; it's fun to mess with other people's minds! :D
So. After Armageddon (which was totally awesome, if not for the fact that I spent like $200 there :<), I found that I was to start working from Sunday until the Sunday before school starts.
Crap.
Also, today I read a letter I got from Vic Uni. The strange thing was that although my name's written correctly at the front on the inside my name is Lyle (?!). Then, I realised that there was a progress report along with my newsletter, so I took a look-see there.
A little disappointed with French, but otherwise happy. Now then, onto the retail hell (because those who read this willingly are weird sadists and I appear to enjoy ranting).
My work hours are from 9.00am 'til 5.30pm. Slightly longer than a regular school day, so no complaints so far.
Anyway, gripes, gripes... where to start...
First off, there was that obligatory hag woman who assumed that because IM AZN I CANT SPEEK ENGREESH LOLZ and so had to request what she wanted veeeery slooooowly. Naturally, due to this I understood even less, and frustration got the better of her and as a result she left. Hooray for misperceived language barrier!
Then, there were the little shi brats who tried to steal capguns. My dad eventually kicked them out, but paranoia settled in right after that.
... And then, there was that slightly disturbing conversation I had yesterday (Thoughts are in italics):
Old lady: Hi. How are you? :D
Me: Um... Good? ^_^;;
This is... odd. Nothing unusual, though, so I better be nice and smile back.
Old lady: So, how's the baby?
Me: ... O_o
I HAVE A BABY?! WTF?!
Old lady: ...? *Waits for reply*
Me: Er... I beg your pardon? Baby?
HOW OLD DOES SHE THINK I AM, ANYWAY?!
Old lady: ... Wait, you're not that lady I talked to often, are you?
Me: Er... no?
Then, there was a separate incident after that involving my dad this time:
Old man: So, are you the husband of that woman who had that baby?
My Dad: What?
Old man: ... You're not, are you?
... Man, yesterday was all kinds of awkward.
"A census taker once tried to test me. I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice Chianti." - Hannibal Lecter, from The Silence of the Lambs
At... what, 4 in the morning, I'm hardly surprised at this.
Anyway, here are two songs that I've been listening to lately.
Again, gamers should be familiar with this guy. I really don't know how to describe him. Almost unbelievable how sad this man is to ambulance chase pretty much every single teen shooting/massacre that occurs on the news.
Ignoring my atrocious skills at uploading photos, let alone displaying them (That's the last time I'm doing that. Ugh), I'd like to do something a little different from my usual rants.
So anyway, today I've started to watch a new J-Drama series called "The Liar Game". Seeing as how I cannot write a decent synopsis, here's a quote from DramaWiki:
So. The review:
Based on the manga series of the same name, Toda Erika plays an honest college student, Kanzaki Nao, who receives a hundred million yen one day, along with a card saying she has been chosen to take part in the "Liar Game". The aim of the game is to trick the other players out of their hundred million dollars. At the end, the winner gets the hundred million and the loser is a hundred million yen in debt. The next day, she receives notification that her opponent is her former teacher, Fujisawa Kazuo. She goes to him, seeking help, but ends up getting tricked into handing her money over. Desperate, she approaches the police for help, but they are unable to do anything. However, she is told of a mastermind swindler, Akiyama Shinichi, who is to be released from jail the next day. Desperate, she goes to him for help.
Characters: If the creator of this manga was trying to portray realism, it fails completely when you see the main heroine. Nao is considered gullible. She even admits that other people say that she's idiotically honest. In this day and age, no one is that trustworthy of others. Adding to that, she is so stupid it's almost tragic. Our other main protagonist is the genius swindler, who is the typical 'aloof, cold and intelligent' type with an angsty past and blah blah blah. Quite cliché. 3/10.
Acting: Seeing how as I've never seen these two actors act, I can't really give an unbiased opinion. Plus, I don't watch a lot of dramas, either. Therefore, this one receives a blank. ?/10.
Story: The story is quite interesting. What makes it more interesting is the fact that they use strategies that are - dare I say it - quite simple to follow, therefore making it slightly more realistic. Other shows of this genre use over-the-top tactics which always seem to have a huge gaping flaw. Honestly, sometimes the most simplest of plans are the best. 10/10.
Music: The music... quite interesting. The only two words I can say that pretty much wraps it up would be 'retro' and 'electronic'. Wasn't too memorable, but then again, it's really hard for something to stay remembered in my head. 6/10.
Visual Effects: Very nice. They use diagram-like animation to help illustrate a point or tactic the characters use, making it less dull and repetitive. 8/10.
Overall: I would highly recommend this series to anyone who were interested in shows such as Death Note. Nao's naive personality is a bit irritating, but once you get over that, it's an enjoyable show nonetheless. 8/10.
Because you people asked for it. (ie. Lisa asked for it. lol)
I couldn't actually get pictures of dog crap, because I managed to clean it all before I distinctly had the urge to take a picture of it. (Honestly Lisa, "Artistic"?!)
Basically, Thunder likes to chase stuff. Blaze... just kinda sits there and licks you. VERY affectionate. Which isn't actually a good thing, when you only just finished washing your hands or something.
.... Incidentally, Thunder's the one who popped that ball.
That ball wasn't one of those things that came with the dogs to occupy them.
I want my soccer ball back. ;_;
Sure, he looks cute and innocent enough, but he's incredibly protective of that chew bone against other dogs.
Thunder tried to attack Blaze when he was chewing on that bone. :(
... And that's just cute. D'awww. D:
Hi all. (ie. Lisa. Lol)
Like the title says, I've been quite busy this week (Which doesn't actually fully explain my lack of updates for the past month) with two main (legitimate) reasons:
FIRST REASON: Work.
Stocktake on Tuesday. Not exactly what you would call the most easiest job in the world, mainly because I can't remember how much I counted, so having to count all over again. Easily took at least 4 hours or so. All but collapsed on my couch bed.
On Thursday I worked from 9am 'til around 10/11pm at a different dollar store (but still a dollar store, nevertheless). Was almost in tears (of happiness, mind) at the fact that no one questioned the name/price thing. No one.
Friday, the same as above, though it only took 12 hours that time. When I arrived home, there was a special surprise waiting for me. (Will explain later.)
Saturday, same thing. 9 - 6pm.
And finally, today. 10am - 3.30pm.
Christine has finished work!
Earned ??? exp. and 250G. (<- Actually earned this much today. Still not sure if this is all the pay that I'll get for my work [a total of around 44 hours] or if that's only what I've earned for the day.)
Christine gains a level! Please add skill points:
Strength +1
Agility +0.5
Tiredness +10
Humanity -5
Charisma +1
Christine loses even more faith in humanity.
Christine slowly descends down the path of madness.
SECOND REASON: DOGS.
On Friday, I arrived to hear the news that I was to look after two border collies until next Friday for my parents' friends.
I was ecstatic at first, but then remembered that I'm actually quite crap at looking after pets.
Saturday wasn't too bad. I awoke at 6.30 in the morning to walk the two, give them breakfast, etc.
Come Sunday morning, and I find dog crap in the dog kennel.
Guess who had to clean it up.
The problem with not letting the two dogs free to roam around the yard is that we have a low fence. Thunder and Blaze (The two dogs) love to escape and sometimes terrorise the neighbour cats. I can't leave the dogs free unsupervised, and the two are driving me ballistic with their continual need for attention. Wikipedia does not kid when it says that they are highly energetic and having a tendency towards neurotic or destructive behaviour if not given enough to do.
They're well-trained, though. Their owners are very good dog handlers.
I'm glad that I don't have work tomorrow. For the next couple of days I'm going to be busy supervising the dogs and pray that I don't find dog crap in the kennel tomorrow.
I doubt it, though. Unfortunately, the two seem afraid of the neighbours' dogs, and their whining is absolutely shattering my heart. This fear(?) can also explain why there was doggy doo in the kennel.
I'm still praying with all my heart, nevertheless. I really am trying my best here.
May add pictures later.
You may be wondering why I haven't blogged for so long.
My excuses are that my dad got me a job and I was lazy.
More of the latter than the former, though.
So, to counter this I am going to write the longest post in this entire blog.
News of the job: my dad was like "Congrats, you got a job starting Monday!" on Saturday.
Good news:
- Job! Yes! I don't need to get one from Pak'n'Save!
- MONEYS! 8D
- It's in Porirua, so no one would be able to recognise me! Huzzah!
- The other staff are Korean.
Bad news:
- The other staff are Korean. (Remember? Can't speak good Korean, due to the whole 'came to NZ at 4' business)
- It's in retail. Again. D:
- I work from 10~6pm. 8 HOURS. DDD:
- It's in retail. *shudders*
- I'll have no job after Christmas, since I'm only working 'til Christmas Eve. D:
- RETAIL. DDDD:
- I'm working Monday through to next Monday. No days off. DDDDDDDD:
- DEAR LORD ITS IN RETAIL
- Because of the strict workdays I can't go Christmas shopping. I didn't even START OTL
- I think I forgot to mention this: It's a dollar store. Called "Dollar Store 1 2 3" (LIKE, WAO SO ORIGINAL LOLZ) and the prices are as follows: $1, $2, $3 and $3.90.
So it's more bad than good news.
Here's a detailed report on the job for the first four days:
Day 1
Started work. Learned the ropes from the senior staff.
Really wasn't too bad, though I was too shy to ask for a break and ended up working non-stop for 8 hours.
Had someone ask me if we either sold BB gun bullets or BB guns themselves. Memories of Morning Glory show up. I can't escape from that stupid question, can I?
I also ended up working around 40 minutes extra for free. It involved moving boxes. And cutting them open with boxcutters. That was the fun part.
The day ended with me having really sore feet, especially on the soles, since my shoes are in disrepair. I need to get new shoes.
My mouth hurt a little from fake-smiling too much.
Day 2
Felt like a chore to wake up and go with my dad to Porirua, since feet still hurt. It's a lot different from Morning Glory, since I have to constantly stand to work the cash register, and it's always busy with customers.
Had a break this time. It was brief, but swell.
Met the first asshole who asked "Why the hell is it called '1, 2, 3' when this thing costs $3.90?" and slowly pointed at the numbers to me as if I couldn't speak english/was retarded.
I'm beginning to hate this job already.
Ended the day by helping my mum translate this thing from Korean into English. Not very easy on the brain, since I have the vocabulary of a 4 year old and had to piece the paper back together with sellotape after my mum ripped it to shreds in anger at my reluctance to translate.
Day 3
Wet and miserable morning. Helped my dad deliver boxes of new stuff into the store in the rain. Found out that my shoes weren't as water resistant as I had hoped and had to work with sopping wet sneakers.
Had a woman who wanted a $200 cash out for buying something worth $3.90. I said no, and told her that there was a bank not far from here. She then asked for $100. It was still too much and I said no. I half hoped she would get the message and go away.
She didn't, and asked for $50. Knowing that she wouldn't go away, I gave her the $50 note. She literally snatched it off my hands and without even a word of gratitude she walked away.
I am getting really sick of Beyonce's 'Irreplaceable' song, both in English AND in Spanish (At least, I think it's Spanish) plus the remix with a reggae-like beat.
I managed to get a blister on the sole of my foot. I didn't even know that was even possible.
Day 4
Began the day as usual. Endured the pain on my feet.
Met another asshole who decided that a) I can't speak English and b) I have the power to change the shop's name and, as such, should change it to "Dollar Store 1 2 3 3.90".
There was a woman who was served by my co-worker, who isn't very fluent in English. She explained something to me in Korean, then left the woman alone to check the price on something without any explanation. The woman, asked me if my co-worker couldn't speak English and apparently was insulted that "She gabbled in some chinese language and left without even saying a word". She then asked my co-worker when she came back if she couldn't speak in English.
I seriously hate that Irreplaceable song now. I have a headache, my feet are killing me, and my toe is bleeding for some inexplicable reason.
Right. I'm tired, sore and I really don't want to work tomorrow.
Perhaps, if I act really sick enough, my dad won't take me to work.
Yesterday we had our annual Prizegiving practice/actual thing.
The practice went smoothly. Nothing to report there.
(Incidentally, on the actual night I got one of those diligence certificates. Lisa [ie. most likely the only person who reads my blog other than Tina] got quite a few excellences in something. Plus a trophy. Or something like that. I wasn't really paying attention. I was, for some reason paying more attention to the fact that I accidentally set my phone on 'Vibrate' instead of silent and the phone periodically vibrated because my brother had the nerve to text me right at the beginning and I couldn't take out my phone because WHOA THIS SENTENCE IS LONG. Also, I was sitting stiffly upright throughout the whole thing and my shoulders hurt like Hell afterwards and-)
However, what happened afterwards was more... interesting, as it were.
Well, Kruti and I went to the French room after practice to begin planning and initial set up for the Treasure hunt that was to happen today.
At first, a couple of people came to help out. Most said they were busy, and some said they would help out on the day.
At this point, around 8 moderately interested people were present for the planning (In total, there were about 10 in the room). Then Madame MacIver (Yes, I'm going to call her that 'cause it sounds cooler that way lol) came and brought fish and chips, which was quite nice of her.
Then it all went downhill.
First off, some of the moderately interested people talked about things not related whatsoever to what we were supposed to do, so they were pretty much kicked out (Only we were more polite and used more flowery words).
Then there were 8.
About half an hour later, the rest of the mildly interested people thought it was getting late (It was 1.30pm, by the way) and so they left too.
In other words, it was only Kruti, Madame MacIver and I.
I think it wasn't really that bad, if it wasn't for the fact that I spent all night making Christmas Cards (Out of paper stuck together by glue, no less), Kruti had insomnia (apparently) the night before, and Madame needed to leave at 4.30 to pick up her husband.
Long story short, lots of hysterical laughter and running around was had.
We managed to finish making those stupid clues at around 5.30, where my mum had to help as well. (Kruti and I can't tie balloons, apparently.)
Then came the next day.
I came at the usual time at around 8ish.
Waited around a couple of hours until the French room was open, then began the frantic running all over the place to hide the clues and such. Altogether, there were 7 people who helped out on the day. Madame MacIver needed to attend a funeral that day, so we were in charge of the Year 9s. DUR HUR HUR :B
Seeing as no one was very... enthusiastic about putting les escargots onto dishes, I was forced to do that job.
Even if I was using a spoon, it was disgusting. The smell was worse.
Just as we [read: Kruti and I] were still explaining everything to the newcomers who came late to help, the french students came for their lesson treasure hunt.
Oops.
Many hasty apologies and "It'll only take a few more minutes" later, and we were done.
... Well, actually, no; we had to distract them with the 'number game' (flyswatters and all) and the 'dessinez' game while I set up the snails.
After a brief panting from me (Having to run all the way from the tech block to the french room), we Kruti described the rules (while I added things here and there)
After that, 4 of the 7 helpers went with the groups while the others went to their 'stations'.
But first, we got to see the kiddies' disgusted expressions at the prospect of eating snails. (It was the first task for all of them) :D
It took around 40 minutes, and a few hiccups here and there (One of the groups accidentally picked up the wrong clue, plus the task I was assigned to do didn't even WORK OTL), but it was finally over.
I collapsed in a heap after that, having to run around everywhere while wearing a warm jacket and a scarf.
So... Yeah. That was pretty much what happened today and yesterday. I'm still tired, by the way, and I've lost all feeling in my legs now.
I think that this is not a good sign.
Bought one today. WHOA IT SPARKLES AND STUFFS
... Anyway, I asked the clerk if this thing used AAA batteries. He replied that they used AA ones instead, so I bought rechargeable ones (Which are much more expensive than regular ones, of course). Feeling no real need to have the receipt, I threw it away.
And you know what?
This uses AAA batteries.
THAT FUCKING BASTARD LIED TO ME.
Please excuse me while I bash my head against the keyboard.
